Welcome to a free workshop for artists, musicians and other creatives that have moved to Norway and want to learn more about how to navigate the cultural scene in a new country!
When one moves to another place, how does art move with them? What kind of challenges do artists face in Norway? This survival guide aims to share information that can be useful to know throughout the ongoing journey of being a practising artist in Norway.
The survival guide provides information on
-How to live and practice as an artist; studios, workshops, how and where to apply for funding, and different job possibilities
-How to enter the art field; artist organisations, exhibition spaces, and other platforms and venues.
-Some of the boring but practical issues of practising as an artist; tax papers, invoicing, permits, and other related issues
-Different opportunities to get more input through education, seminars, and residencies
-Appendix with an overview and links to useful resources
This workshop is free, but has a limited number of places.
It lasts for 2,5 hours in total.
TIME: 26th November at 6pm
SPACE: Øveriet Oslo, Waldemar Thranes gate 98
It is held by Herogder.no: a network and program for artists who have moved to Norway and want to reestablish themselves as artists in a new country.
The workshop is organized by Interkultur + Musikkontoret MØST and ØKS.
